I certainly can. In my on-line courses I share the advantages and disadvantages of a whole range of projects. You can use this as a fact-finding exercise to see what you find most appealing.
No you don’t. The more you’ve had, could be useful in some situations as you will find some aspects quicker, but that’s just practice. Because I show you step-by-step screen videos, you can see what various programs look like and how they work. You can replay these as many times as you like, as well as pause them.
Yes I will. And if the material isn’t clear enough, I’ll make it clearer. I want you to become knowledgeable and skilled, so you know what to do and what not to do.
No. This is the one area that holds people back with some projects – and exactly what I want to help you with. But I do suggest that you have mastered the basic skills of Word, and that you can send and receive emails, and have explored the internet. Don’t worry, I’ll guide you in finding the specific programs we’ll be looking at.
I think it is so important for men to have a voice and share their memories. Amongst the men who came to my classes (when I taught workshops in person) were single dads – one in particular created some fabulous pages filled with ‘Dad’ humour… another grandfather who ‘sat in’ on one of my talks at his daughters house, because he wanted to sit down, ended up by creating his own pages and sharing some of his stories with his family that they had no idea about. Men sometimes approach their memories differently to women, and they need to be able to express their thoughts and feelings in a way that is comfortable. I’d be very happy to have you as part of our on-line community.
No you don’t, although everyone’s budget and needs are different. You probably will need to purchase some items depending on what project you’re working on. You might want to buy a memory stick or external hard-drive to back up your images, or create an online or off-line album. I will guide you through the processes, offer suggestions, but you’re in control of what you then do. Fit your projects around your budget and my suggestion is that you set yourself up to complete multiple albums over time, rather than just one. But try one for starters to work out what you want to do next. I will provide information on free on-line programs, and others that you can buy. The choice will be up to you as to what suits your needs. Where products are required, I have sourced options that provide the best value for money. Please be aware that I don’t advocate spending a great deal of money on photograph albums and the embellishments that make pages look attractive. This can detract from the time spent actually completing projects, as well as being quite expensive. I will share what I feel are the basic ‘must-have’s’ and again, leave the choice up to you. Other options for gift or memorabilia products will also be provided.
There is no minimum period. You can stay as long as you wish, and stop doing courses whenever you feel you’ve got enough information. As modules work best for most people, information will be grouped into topics or projects. You can then go on to another topic or project, or learn more advanced techniques. You can log in from anywhere in the world at any time, 7 days a week.
If you have any questions before signing up, then I’d be more than happy to answer them. Click here to send me an email with your questions.
